Job Description

Job Summary

The Lead Salesforce Architect role will be responsible for building and mentorship of a multi-skilled Salesforce team as well as design and implementing Salesforce solutions for our customers that follow best practices in both IT and Salesforce projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage robust teams of Salesforce.com delivery team members, including BAs, Tech Leads, Architects, Developers & QA

  • Perform project and program management activities, including project financials.

  • Liaise and manage collaboration between horizontals to bring in synergies and ensure successful delivery

  • Take accountability of delivery of work packages to customer facing project teams, ensuring packages are delivered on time and with quality

  • Ensure for all projects, each Apex method developed has an equivalent test method with at least one valid unit test (using an assertion)

  • Ensure total test coverage within QA and higher environments is at least 85%

  • Ensure all code is peer-reviewed against Cognizant development standards prior to deployment to QA

  • Maintain and publish Salesforce development standards to broader technical teams on a quarterly basis

  • Ensure developers are incorporating code review feedback prior to deployment to QA. Enforce the practice with regular training & project audits.

  • Ensure version control has been correctly setup at the beginning of the project

  • Ensure all developers are using version control as the source of truth for development

  • Be an active part of the COE, owing technical & solution reviews for all projects on a regular basis

  • Reporting to internal senior management or Leadership teams on the overall engagement (across different dimensions like delivery, bid management, staffing, financials etc.

  • Ability to understand pain areas of business and present workable solutions

  • Acts as the escalation point when issues arise and understand what to do and who to work with to resolve them.

  • Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, high-energy, challenging environment where there are multiple competing priorities on a daily basis.

  • Work closely with business analysts, architects, developers, testers and a variety of IT and business stakeholders.

  • Keeping up to date with Salesforce releases and new functionality.

  • Adhere to company and project standards and guidelines.

  • Accurate time management and reporting of own work.

  • Quality, on time delivery of agreed deliverables.

  • Ability to work on multiple applications/ projects/ BAU enhancement simultaneously and must have a “can do” attitude.

  • Grow the maturity of our practice by leading internal initiatives to further develop methodology, tooling, and skillsets. This includes owning our Architect & CTA Academy, enable CICD & version control for all projects

  • Define & enable development plan for TL’s to make them into strong TA’s

  • Help drive bootcamp for developers and enforce best practices in all our developers

Requirements

  • Extensive years of experience in handling large delivery engagements with a strong experience in managing SFDC programs

  • Deep knowledge and expertise across the Salesforce.com platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, etc.), including experience delivering complex SFDC solutions

  • Has delivered multiple full end-to-end Salesforce.com implementations/projects, especially including highly integrated/complex ecosystems. Understands how to deliver capabilities on Salesforce AppExchange products

  • Strong program management and problem-solving skills

  • Should have excellent presentation and written communications skills

  • Strong Exposure to SDLC and Agile methodologies

  • Exceptionally strong in scope management

  • Has ownership for key projects’ timelines, deliverables, budget and metrics

  • Proven ability to efficiently manage a portfolio and drive operational improvements

  • Should be flexible in time and attitude

  • Works independently to manage the whole program and respective stakeholders/ and projects

  • Hands on experience with setting up branching strategy, version control & CICD

Qualifications

  • Platform Developer I (mandatory)

  • Platform Developer II (desirable)

  • Salesforce Application Architect (mandatory)

  • Salesforce System Architect (desirable)

  • Integration Architecture certified (desirable)

  • TOGAF Certified (desirable)

  • Project Management or Delivery focused certification (mandatory)
