Job Description

​DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has an immediate opening for a senior Infrastructure Delivery – Network Technician. We are currently expanding our Infrastructure Operations team in AWS and are looking for a highly-motivated and seasoned professional Network Technician to join our growing team at data center site.

Network Technician will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external vendors on network scaling and cabling project implementation. The ideal candidate should be autonomous, detail-oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills with significant experience in enterprise class network infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities
- Triage project ticket queue to review requests and changes
- Plan and implement projects according to priorities for multiple data centers
- Verify project requirements in terms of infrastructure capacity, materials, resources required and lead time
- Prepare scope of work and request for quote for bid analysis
- Manage vendor to implement cabling and hardware installation work
- Comply with change management policies and guidelines for project activities
- Build network devices and troubleshoot issues with engineers
- Assure project quality on deliverables for handoff to operations
- Update project progress, and escalate risks and blockers to stakeholders
- Adhere to safety and security standards for all tasks
- Review demand forecasts and coordinate with stakeholders for planning
- Keep updated with latest process and design changes, and drive changes within the team
- Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Manage and support training and development in procedures and technical knowledge

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in enterprise class network projects
- Certification in CCNA or JNCIA or higher level
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
- Experience in cabling and patching, and relevant best practices and standards
- Experience in installation, provisioning and migration of network hardware
- Experience in troubleshooting for networking, routing and interconnectivity issues
- Experience in project management, change management, workflow and ticketing systems
- Experience in secure data center environment
- Experience in adopting and delivering new process
- Fluent in written and verbal English
- Can speak in Chinese
- Can perform off-hours change management tasks
- Can work at different locations outside of Taipei City up to 30% of time
- Willing to travel to other countries for work up to 10% of time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
- Experience in datacenter backbone network build
- Experience in virtualized enterprise networking environment
- Strong understanding of major Command Line Protocols and common Networking Protocols
- Knowledge of IT best practice framework and project management methodologies
- Knowledge of change management and workflow systems
- Experience in presentation and reporting for projects
- Experience in handling multiple projects and conflicting priorities
